Autonomous vehicle startup WeRide raises $320 million
WeRide, a Guangzhou, China-based startup developing autonomous vehicle systems, today announced it has raised a total of $310 million in series B funding after completing series B2 and B3 rounds. The fundraising follows the closure of a $200 million strategic round by Chinese bus maker Yutong in December, which added $110 million to WeRide’s series B haul.

Notable backers include Intel Capital, which returned for this series B+ round alongside lead investors Fiscus Ventures, Reimagined Ventures, and Action Potential Venture Capital. With another $40 million in the bank, Exo said it’s now well-positioned to bring its data and workflow apps to market and to conclude product development for its handheld ultrasound device

Exo Imaging Emerges from Stealth Mode with $35M Series B Financing Round to Advance Development of the Exo Ultrasound Platform
Exo Imaging, Inc., a company pioneering a high-performance ultrasound platform based on patented Piezoelectric Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers (pMUT) technology and artificial intelligence (AI) for imaging and therapeutic applications, announced a $35M Series B financing round. The company was founded in 2015 and has raised nearly $50M to date. Intel Capital led the Series B. Volta’s ad-supported electric vehicle charging service raises $35 million
That sentiment was echoed across the company’s investor base, which has grown with the $35 million Series C round to include a slew of new investors including: GE Ventures, Orsted Venture, Nautilus Venture Partners, and Idinvest all join as new investors. Initial investors Virgo Investment Group and Autotech Ventures, also returned to put capital into the company. In all Volta has raised $60 million since it was founded in 2010.

JingChi Raises $52M in Pre-A Investment Rounds to Fuel Growth and Development of Autonomous Fleets for US and China
JingChi Inc. ("JingChi"), the leading self-driving technology company from China, announced today the completion of a combined $52 million pre-A investment round from lead investor Qiming Venture ("Qiming"), strategic investor NVIDIA GPU Ventures, and a consortium of other investors. The investment allows JingChi to rapidly expand its research and development teams globally, and ramp up deployment of a fully Level 4 autonomous driving test fleet in China by the end of 2017.
